Xtreme Skiing!!

My good friend Jason Moss came to visit Brooke and I from March 11th to the 15th, and since we all had such a great time I thought I'd share our adventure. One of the first things we did was hike Antelope Island. I provided my services and was Jason's sherpa... as you can see.

We didn't quite make it to the top because it got pretty slippery with all the snow, but it was still a lot of fun and provided some great views of the Salt Lake valley.

Jason and I took a trip to Snow Basin ski resort, and I took my first crack at skiing. I liked it a lot better than snowboarding for two main reasons. 1.) I picked up skiing a lot faster than snowboarding, and 2.) I didn't break any bones skiing. I definitely need to bring the sun block next time though. Jason and I both got our faces fried from the nose down. It was a small price to pay for a great day of skiing though.

Pregnant or not, Brooke didn't want to be left behind so we brought her along and she hit the slopes too!

We also went up to Park City and took a tour of Olympic Park where the 2002 Winter Games were held. The weather couldn't have been better, and we all had a great time.

All in all, it was an Xtreme long weekend!

Baby Pics at 37.5 Weeks

The turkey is still in the oven. He's about 8lbs 4oz. Awesome. Everything seems healthy, and he is nestled in the perfect position very low in my body. This picture is him with his face pressed against the placenta. Mom says it's hard to see anything other than a blob, hence the diagram. It's a closeup of his face showing his eye, nose, mouth, and chin. He's frowning, aw. It's the best picture we've gotten of his face in a long time, though! I'm so excited!
I went to a different doctor this week since mine is on vacation, and she felt all over my belly and just laughed because the baby is everywhere. I could have told her that he's everywhere from what I feel during his midnight break dancing sessions. She just wanted to verify his size. She doesn't think I'm too close to delivery, I'm barely dilated to 1cm. I just may pass Justin in weight before this adventure is over.

Two Pregos

Guess who is hiding the large balloon that was hanging around our house?

Latest baby update: as of Thursday, the baby is 7lbs 14oz. Holy Moly. I thought he wasn't so big, but he is. So is the mama.

Please note Justin's hot ski tan.

Maternity Pics

Stacy took some maternity pics of me about a month ago; if you want to see them, go to her blog at scc-photography.blogspot.com. I am currently bigger than what I show here, but they are still great belly pics! Not so happy with the face in a few of them, but, what can ya do when you put on 35+ lbs in just a few months?

Latest Ultra Sound

Justin is questioning the father. . .

Aren't those lips hilarious?! The doctor said that's normal to look that way in the ultra sound, but do you think he is just trying to make us feel better. . . .?
We did get some great news that I am only about one week ahead of schedule, NOT three weeks ahead, and everything seems to be exactly as it should. The baby is a bit large, but he shouldn't get to be much more than 8 pounds -- whew! We were looking at a 10+ baby last time on the old machine with apparently inaccurate measurements.
So instead of us tentatively planning for a baby to come NEXT week, we have till the end of the month. Hopefully. If everything goes as planned. Does it ever go as planned? Maybe Justin will get a little 8 lb. birthday present.
