Feb 2014 Misc

A bit of this and some of that.

My guitar heroes.

Attempt at inside entertainment on a cold day. Put the cheerios on the spaghetti stuck in play dough. D quickly saw through the ridiculousness of that idea and just ate the cheerios. Who needs dexterity?

Blurry, but adorable.

Mason wanted Justin to just throw the snow on him.

This is how Weston and I go sledding sometimes. This time I accidentally left the electricity on in the car and we had to call a friend to come jump it afterwards. oopsie.

"Peep-eye!"

Me from the other room a few minutes before: "Hey boys, Weston needs a nap, so stay away from his crib, okay?"

Valentines Day craft. They actually liked the idea of making them...

Whenever there is a song on that D likes and we are too loud for him to hear it well, this is what he does. This time it was "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing."

Bubbles on the back porch! Sometimes it feels a little spring-ish.

I had to. I know.
I tried everything I know how to make this picture vertical, and it refused. Anyway, Mason wanted to be a turkey. Pretty clever!

D wanted to be a turkey, too.

Boys' Photoshoot Attempt

I have a part of a frame that needs a picture, and I want that picture to have the three boys together. I do not have a picture like that which is vertical, so I thought I would try to take a picture.
ATTEMPT #1
The first attempt was just a practice shoot after church one day. I was by myself, so I was trying to keep Weston from falling off the couch while taking pictures. Mason did a pretty good job at holding him up, so I wasn't really worried about his safety, but there were a few almost-close-calls.
None of them really turned out the way I wanted, but I thought the results were kind of entertaining.

Maybe if I pinch his nose, he'll be happier.

Hey Mom, the strap is right in front of the lens. Tsk.

Nose!

Why is Weston so upset in these pictures? I don't understand.

I know, there's a lot.

Maybe if I drool on him, he'll be happy.

ATTEMPT #2
This was a spontaneous photo shoot, they were all awake and relatively happy, Justin was home, and the sun was still up. So we threw them on the chair with whatever they were wearing that day and their hair was untouched (not really my preference, but I didn't care that much at the time.) AFTER we finished attempting to get them all to look at the camera with a not-crying face, I remembered that I needed a VERTICAL shot, not horizontal. Whatever. I'll use one of these for something else.
Justin modeled while I played with the camera settings. I really need to take a training on how to use this camera.

Mason was the first to obey and get on the chair.

Ha. I couldn't help but post this.

The best one?

Save me, Dad!

Another favorite

And that was all the sitting they could muster. But there's some cute ones.
Weston was a perfect model after the whole fiasco was over. I may be biased, but I must say, Justin and I have some pretty cute kids.

Preschool Olympics

When we had preschool at our house at the beginning of this month, we learned about the letter O, so we did the Olympics! I had them create their own flag, pick their own national anthem (Two picked "Jingle Bells, Batman Smells," one picked plain ol' "Jingle Bells," and Mason picked the Transformers Rescue Bots theme song.), we did an opening ceremonies, then had a few competitions. At then at the end they decorated their own medal (Bought some on Amazon, they were cute). Sometimes I remembered to take pictures. This all happened over four days of preschool. I love these kids!

Soda Bottle Ring Toss (they decorated their own rings)

Thomas the Train ski jump.

Closing Ceremonies (Mason wanted his to look like the Canadian flag. That's the "Justin Time" influence)

And here they are. So cute.
Side note: I showed them a highlight video from Winter Olympics so they could get an idea of different events and what it's all about. I was trying to explain to them that the athletes often worked their whole life to train for the games, and as I was saying this a bunch of victory shots came on the video, and I choked up. Honestly. I had to stop talking before the kids noticed the tears in my eyes. Ha. I love the Olympics!

Five Month Weston

Weston is already FIVE MONTHS OLD! He surprised us by sitting up on his own really well. I still have to stay near him because he face plants here and there, but it's fun to let him play with his brothers. He sits the best when he has toys in his lap.

This was the first time we realized he could hold himself up. I love how chubby he looks in this photo.

He also discovered his toes! I love these stages!

He loves cars! If there is a selection of toys, he will go for the car.

Who is this kid? Wasn't he just born?

Of course the brothers are willing to train him in music performance.

Weston still doesn't know how to roll over. He's not a fan of tummy time, but every once in a while we figure out a way to keep him happy on his stomach. Justin figured this one out.
